Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Lianhua Qingwen Granules combined with Azithromycin on mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) and its effect on the negative conversion rate of mycoplasma pneumoniae- IgM (MP- IgM), repair rate of mucosa under bronchoscope and level of serum procalcitonin (PCT). Methods:A total of 200 MPP children were randomly divided into the combination group and the control group, with 100 cases in each group. The combination group was given Lianhua Qingwei Granules combined with Azithromycin for treatment, and the control group was treated with Azithromycin. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The clinical effects, repair rate of mucosa under bronchoscope, MP- IgM negative conversion rate, improvement time, hospitalization time, indexes of lung function, including peak expiration flow (PEF), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), and ration of FEV1 and forced vital capacity (FVC), serum PCT levels and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was 93.00% in the combination group and 81% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the repair rate of mucosa under bronchoscope and MP- IgM negative conversion rate were respectively 72.00% and 82.00% in the combination group, and 53.00% and 70.00% in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). The hospitalization time, lung recruitment time, disappearance time of lung wheezes, response time of panting, expectoration and cough, and recovery time of body temperature in the combination group were shorter than those in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of PEF,FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above 3 levels in the combination group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum PCT levels in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the PCT level in the combination group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 7.00% in the combination group and 9.00% in the control group, there being no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Lianhua Qingwen Granules combined with Azithromycin can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of MPP children, increase the repair rate of mucosa under bronchoscope, MP- IgM negative conversion rate and lung function, and reduce inflammatory reaction with good safety and curative effects.
