Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of acupoint application with Gancao Yangyin Decoction on constipation of yin deficiency type in convalescence of cerebral apoplexy. Methods：A total of 78 patients with constipation of yin deficiency type in convalescence of cerebral apoplexy were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the block randomization method，with 39 cases in each group. In the treatment group，5 cases were excluded and 34 cases were finally included. Both groups were given routine medication treatment， based on which the control group was given acupoint application with placebo for treatment， and the treatment group was treated with acupoint application with Gancao Yangyin Decoction. Both groups were treated for 7 days. The Wexner scores， Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL) scores and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the Wexner scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the SS- QOL scores were increased when compared with those before treatment，differences being significant (P＜0.05)；the Wexner score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group，and the SS-QOL score was higher than that in the control group， differences being significant (P＜0.05). The scores of nursing attitude， nursing technology， professional technology and diet nursing in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group，differences being significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Acupoint application with Gancao Yangyin Decoction can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with constipation of yin deficiency type in convalescence of cerebral apoplexy，and improve the quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
