Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of auricular point seed-pressing and emotional care on sleep quality and negative symptoms in schizophrenia patients. Methods: A total of 300 schizophrenia patients were selected as research objects, and were randomly divided into the study group and the control group according to envelope method, with 150 patients in each group. The control group received routine treatment and nursing, and the study group was additionally treated with auricular point seed-pressing and emotional care based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) and Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: Before treatment, there was no significant difference in PSQI scores between two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the PSQI scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the PSQI score in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in SANS score between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the SANS scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the SANS scores in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in SQLS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the SQLS scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the SQLS scores in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The combination of auricular point seed- pressing and emotional care can effectively improve the sleep quality and negative symptoms of schizophrenia patients, and enhance the quality of life.
