Abstract： Objective： To explore the point selection rule of using acupuncture to treat post- stroke shoulder pain (PSSP) based on data mining technology，and to provide reference for clinical practice in using acupuncture to treat PSSP. Methods：Databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI)， China Biology Medicine (CBM)， Wan fang Data， VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP)， PubMed and Cochrane were searched for clinical researches on using acupuncture to treat PSSP published from the database establishment day to March 31，2022. Excel software was used to manage the data， and data mining technology was applied to carry out frequency analysis， association rule analysis ， and systematic cluster analysis. Results ： A total of 53 literature were involved ， including 75 points. The top 3 points used frequently were Jianyu point (LI 15)，Jianzhen point (SI 9) and Jianliao point (SJ 14). The top 3 meridians and collaterals in frequency were the hand taiyang large intestine meridian，the hand taiyang small intestine meridian and the hand shaoyang triple energizers meridian. The main method of acupuncture was filiform needle；the needle retention time was mainly 30 minutes，and the main course of treatment was 20 times of needling in 28 days. A total of 8 high- frequency combinations of points and meridians and collaterals were found by association rule analysis. A total of 3 basic prescriptions were obtained by systematic cluster analysis of points. Conclusion： In the treatment of using acupuncture to treat PSSP，the principle is to treat the root and branch simultaneously，and the methods include boosting qi and reinforcing healthy qi，dredging the meridians and unblocking the collaterals，and invigorating blood and relieving pain. The selected points are mainly on the shoulders and upper limbs，and the clinical effect can be improved if they are combined with he-sea point and intersecting points.
