Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of the external application with Xiaoyu Jiegu Powder combined with acupuncture for postoperative rehabilitation of tibial fracture. Methods：A total of 82 cases of patients who underwent percutaneous reduction and internal fixation for tibial fracture were selected and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method， with 41 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine symptomatic treatment of western medicine after operation； the control group was additionally treated with Bone Peptide Injection and limb exercise training， and the study group was additionally treated with the external application with Xiaoyu Jiegu Powder combined with acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. Pain degree，the time for swelling reduction in the affected limbs，fracture healing time，hemorheology，excellent and good rates of fracture healing，and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results：On 14 days after operation，the pain degree in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P＜ 0.05). The time for swelling reduction in the affected limbs and fracture healing time in the study group were shorter than those in the control group (P＜0.05). On 22 days after operation， high- shear whole blood viscosity，low-shear whole blood viscosity，and plasma viscosity in the two groups were decreased when compared with those on the first day after operation (P＜0.05)，and the high-shear whole blood viscosity， low- shear whole blood viscosity， and plasma viscosity in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). During the 4 months of follow-up，the excellent and good rate of fracture healing was 92.68% in the study group，higher than that of 73.17% in the control group (P＜0.05)；the incidence of adverse reactions was 9.76% in the study group and 17.07% in the control group， there being no significant difference being found between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion： For patients with postoperative rehabilitation of tibial fracture，external application with Xiaoyu Jiegu Powder combined with acupuncture can effectively relieve postoperative pain， improve blood circulation， and promote fracture healing.
