Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupoint application and moxibustion combined with comprehensive rehabilitation therapy for upper limb dysfunction after stroke. Methods : A total of 80 cases of patients with upper limb dysfunction after stroke were selected and divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with comprehensive rehabilitation therapy, and the trial group was additionally treated with acupoint application and moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The scores of Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), Fugl- Meyer Assessment of Upper Extremity Motor Function (FMA-UE),and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) before and after treatment, and the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 92.50% in the trial group, higher than that of 75.00% in the control group (P<0.05). The MAS scores of wrist flexor muscle group, elbow flexor muscle group, and shoulder internal rotator muscle group in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the MAS scores of wrist flexor muscle group, elbow flexor muscle group, and shoulder internal rotator muscle group in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of FMA- UE and MBI in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores of FMA- UE and MBI in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupoint application and moxibustion combined with comprehensive rehabilitation therapy has a good clinical effect in treating upper limb dysfunction after stroke, which can reduce the muscle tension of the affected upper limb muscle groups, promote the recovery of upper limb function, and improve selfcare ability.
