Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine hot pack combined with vibration sputum elimination for senile pulmonary infection. Methods:A total of 62 cases of senile patients with pulmonary infection were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 31 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine symptomatic treatment; the control group was additionally treated with vibration sputum elimination, and the observation group was additionally treated with Chinese medicine hot pack based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, serum C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, chest pain degree [Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores],and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the scores of cough and expectoration, shortness of breath, and general fatigue in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three TCM scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The serum CRP levels and VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the serum CRP level and VAS score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). During treatment, the incidence of complications was 6.45% in the observation group, lower than that of 25.81% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Chinese medicine hot pack combined with vibration sputum elimination for senile pulmonary infection can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, inhibit inflammatory reactions and reduce the incidence of complications.
