Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the external application of Zhitong Xiaoyan Ointment combined with the sequential use of Hirudoid on postoperative limb stasis and edema of arteriovenous fistula. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with postoperative limb stasis and edema of arteriovenous fistula were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method，with 40 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with the external application of Zhitong Xiaoyan Ointment combined with the sequential use of Hirudoid cream， and the control group was treated with Hirudoid cream，twice a day. Both groups were additionally treated with far-infrared radiation for 40 minutes each time，and all treatments continued for 6 days. The degree of limb edema，the area and time of disappearance of skin stasis and edema，Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores and the levels of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results： After treatment， the degree of limb edema in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05)，and the improvement in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05). After 48 hours of treatment，the area of skin stasis and edema in the two groups were decreased，and the area in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group (P<0.05). The time of disappearance of skin stasis and edema in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment，VAS scores in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05)，and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment，hs-CRP in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05)，and the level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion： The early application of external application of Zhitong Xiaoyan Ointment combined with the sequential use of Hirudoid cream can effectively relieve stasis，edema，and pain in patients after the surgery of arteriovenous fistula， improve the body's micro- inflammatory state， and improve their postoperative comfort and satisfaction.
