Abstract: Objective: To observe the influence of the therapy of auricular point sticking and pressing combined with Celecoxib Capsules on the short- term therapeutic effect and shoulder joint function in patients with periarthritis of shoulder. Methods: A total of 64 patients with periarthritis of shoulder were selected as the study objects and divided into the western medicine group and the integrated Chinese and western medicine group by random number table method, with 32 cases in each group. The western medicine group was treated with Celecoxib Capsules, and the integrated Chinese and western medicine group was additionally treated with auricular point sticking and pressing based on the treatment of the western medicine group, with 14 days being one course. The clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Before treatment and 1 day,7 days, and 14 days after treatment, the scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and the levels of pain transmitters , including β- endorphin ( β- EP) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment, the Constant- Murley Score (CMS) was compared between the two groups. Results: Fourteen days after treatment, the total effective rate was 93.75% in the integrated Chinese and western medicine group, higher than that of 75.00% in the western medicine group (P<0.05). At 1 day,7 days and 14 days after treatment, the VAS scores in the two groups were gradually decreased (P<0.05);7 days and 14 days after treatment, the VAS score in the integrated Chinese and western medicine group was lower than that in the western medicine group (P<0.05). At 1 day,7 days and 14 days after treatment, the serum β-EP levels in the two groups were gradually increased (P<0.05), and the PGE2 levels were gradually decreased (P< 0.05); At 7 days and 14 days after treatment, the β- EP levels in the integrated Chinese and western medicine group were higher than those in the western medicine group (P<0.05),and the PGE2 levels were lower than those in the western medicine group (P<0.05). After treatment, the joint motion, pain and CMS scores of daily life in the two groups were increased (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the integrated Chinese and western medicine group were higher than those in the western medicine group (P< 0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of auricular point sticking and pressing combined with Celecoxib Capsules has a good analgesic effect on periarthritis of shoulder and can promote the recovery of shoulder joint function.
