Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of scalp point cluster- needling combined with Bobath technique on increased muscle tone of upper limbs after stroke. Methods:A total of 96 cases of patients with increased muscle tone of upper limbs after stroke were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. During treatment,2 cases dropped off in both groups, and finally 46 cases were included in each group. The control group was treated with Bobath technique, and the observation group was treated with scalp point cluster-needling combined with Bobath technique. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The motor function of upper limbs and activities of daily living before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 91.30% in the observation group, higher than that of 73.91% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Fugl-Meyer Assessment Upper Extremity Scale (FMA-UE) in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores of Disabilities of the Arm,Shoulder and Hand (DASH) were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the FMA-UE score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the DASH score was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Modified Barthel Index (MBI) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P< 0.05),and the MBI score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of scalp point cluster-needling combined with Bobath technique can effectively treat the increased muscle tone of upper limbs after stroke and improve the motor function of upper limbs and activities of daily living.
