Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules combined with Compound Yuxingcao Syrup on symptom control，inflammatory cytokines and immune function in children with upper respiratory tract infection. Methods：A total of 116 children with upper respiratory tract infection were selected as the research subjects and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 58 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Pseadoephedrine Hydrochloride and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide for Suspension， Compound Yuxingcao Syrup ， and Ibuprofen Suspension Liquid ， and the observation group was additionally treated with Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects，symptom control time ， and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. The levels of inflammatory cytokines [interleukin- 6 (IL-6)， tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α)， C- reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin- 1 (IL- 1)]， immunoglobulin A (IgA)， immunoglobulin M (IgM)， immunoglobulin G (IgG)， and T cell subsets (CD3 + ， CD4 + ， and CD4 +/CD8 + ) were compared before treatment，3 and 5 days after treatment. Results：The total effective rate was 98.28% in the observation group， higher than that of 84.48% in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the time for body temperature to return to normal，the disappearance time for nasal congestion and runny nose，the cough disappearance time， and the disappearance time for pharyngeal redness in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After 3 and 5 days of treatment， the levels of IL- 6， TNF- α，CRP and IL-1 in the two groups were gradually decreased (P＜0.05)；after 3 days of treatment， the levels of IL- 6，TNF- α，CRP and IL- 1 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)； after 5 days of treatment， there was no significant difference in the levels of IL- 6， TNF- α，CRP and IL-1 between the two groups (P＞0.05). After 3 and 5 days of treatment，the levels of IgA，IgM and IgG in the two groups were gradually increased (P＜0.05)，and the levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After 3 and 5 days of treatment，the levels of CD3+，CD4+，and CD4+/CD8+ in the two groups were gradually increased (P＜0.05)，and the levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group during the same period (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05). Conclusion：Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules combined with Compound Yuxingcao Syrup for children with upper respiratory tract infection can accelerate symptom relief， promote recovery， and enhance cellular and humoral immune functions.
