Clinical Study on the Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy Combined with Spine Fine- Tuning Manipulation for Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy of Qi Stagnation with Blood Stasis Type
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of abdominal acupuncture therapy combined with spine fine-tuning manipulation for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) of qi stagnation with blood stasis type. Methods:A total of 98 cases of CSR patients of qi stagnation with blood stasis type were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method,with 49 cases in each group. The control group was treated with spine fine- tuning manipulation,and the treatment group was treated with spine fine- tuning manipulation combined with abdominal acupuncture therapy. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores,cervical function, pain, cervical physiological curvature and blood flow velocity were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 91.84% in the treatment group,higher than that of 75.51% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,TCM syndrome scores and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P< 0.05),and the scores of Clinical Assessment Scale of Cervical Spondylosis (CASCS),cervical physiological curvature,average blood flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery,and peak systolic blood flow velocity in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome score and VAS score in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), CASCS score, cervical physiological curvature, average blood flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery, and peak systolic blood flow velocity were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Abdominal acupuncture therapy combined with spine fine- tuning manipulation has a significant curative effect in treating CSR of qi stagnation with blood stasis type,which can alleviate cervical discomfort, adjust cervical physiological curvature, and improve cervical spine function.
