Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Xuebijing Injection in adjuvant treatment of severe pneumonia and its effect on the levels of serum inflammatory factors. Methods:A total of 84 cases of patients with severe pneumonia were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Imipenem- Cilastatin Sodium for Injection based on routine symptomatic treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with Xuebijing Injection based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects,blood gas indexes [partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2), and blood pH],levels of serum inflammatory factors [interleukin-6 (IL-6),interleukin-10 (IL-10),and Creactive protein (CRP)] and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment,the total effective rate was 95.24% in the observation group and 80.95% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, PaO2 levels in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of PaCO2 and pH were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the PaO2 level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the levels of PaCO2 and pH were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of IL-6,IL-10 and CRP in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the incidence of complications was 9.52% in the observation group and 26.19% in the control group,the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Based on routine treatment of western medicine,Imipenem- Cilastatin Sodium for Injection combined with Xuebijing Injection for severe pneumonia can improve blood gas status, effectively inhibit inflammatory responses,and reduce complications.
