Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of point application combined with routine western medicine on stomach duct pain of spleen- stomach weakness type. Methods: A total of 168 cases of patients with stomach duct pain of spleen- stomach weakness type were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 84 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine like Omeprazole Enteric-Coated Tablets and Teprenone Capsules, and the observation group was additionally treated with point application at Pishu (BL20) and Weishu (BL21) based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 94.05% in the observation group and 83.33% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the scores of TCM syndromes, such as abdominal distension, dull pain, vomiting of watery fluid, torpid intake, and loose stool between the two groups (P>0.05);after treatment, the scores of the above syndromes in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). During the treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was 4.76% in the observation group and 5.95% in the control group, there being no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Point application at Pishu and Weishu combined with routine western medicine for stomach duct pain of spleen-stomach weakness type can enhance the clinical effect and effectively improve the TCM syndromes, with good safety.
