Abstract:Objective:This article is to introduce Chief Physician CHEN Yuyan's experience in treating refractory tic disorders with syndrome of phlegm- fire harassing the heart. Chief Physician CHEN believes that refractory tic disorders in children mostly has a long-lasting course of disease with deficiency-excess complex, so we should not simply stick to the syndrome of phlegm- fire harassing the heart. In acute stage, we should focus on treating the tip by mainly eliminating the pathogenic factors to clear heat and sweep phlegm, pacify liver and extinguish wind and the locations of disease are mainly the heart, liver and spleen. In remission stage,we need to treat both the tip and root to pacify liver and extinguish wind, and meanwhile tonify and replenish the heart and spleen, and the locations of disease are mainly the heart, spleen and liver. In consolidation stage, treating the root should be prioritized combined with treating the tip to enrich water to moisten wood, and emolliate the liver and extinguish wind, and the locations of disease are the liver and the kidney. At the same time, great importance should be attached to the psychological counseling for both children and their parents to remind parents to create a snug and harmonious family for children, thus achieving a multi-angle combined therapy.
