Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of moxibustion combined with Chinese medicine fumigation on unilateral upper limb dysfunction during stroke rehabilitation. Methods：A total of 86 patients with unilateral upper limb dysfunction were selected and divided into the control group and the combination group according to random number table method， with 43 patients in each group. The control group was given rehabilitation training， and the combination group was given moxibustion combined with Chinese medicine fumigation based on the treatment of the control group. After 8 weeks of treatment，the clinical effects， and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores， upper limb function [Action Research Arm Test (ARAT) and Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS)]，upper limb pain [Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)] and swelling degree were compared before and after treatment in the two groups. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate was 90.70% in the combination group and 72.09% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). After treatment，the TCM syndrome scores of heminumbness，poor limb flexion and extension，and sore and heavy joints in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the above scores in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the ARAT scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the MAS scores were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the ARAT score in the combination group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05)，and the MAS score was lower than that in the control group (P＜ 0.05). After treatment， the upper limb pain VAS scores and swelling degree in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and VAS score and swelling degree in the combination group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： Moxibustion combined with Chinese medicine fumigation can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients， enhance the function of upper limbs，and relieve muscle spasm and swelling pain，whose clinical effect is significant.
