Exploration of Medication Selection Rules of Tuina with Ointment Prescription for Lumbar Bi Disease in Chinese Medicine Ancient Books Based on Data Mining
Abstract:Objective:To analyze the medication selection rules of tuina with ointment prescription for lumbar bi disease in Chinese medicine ancient books based on data mining. Methods: The ointment prescriptions for tuina in the treatment of lumbar bi disease in ancient books of Chinese medicine were consulted and analyzed. The source, prescription name, and the medicinals involved were extracted. The SATI software was used to analyze the medicinals in the prescriptions, and the frequency and support of their four qi,five flavors, and meridian tropism. The centrality of medicinals was analyzed by UCINET and NetDraw software. Results:Through searching 37 ancient books containing tuina with ointment for lumbar paralysis,a total of 81 ointment prescriptions for tuina in the treatment of lumbar bi disease were retrieved, involving 217 Chinese medicinals, and the total frequency of medicinals use was 958 times. Sheng Ji Zong Lu (Comprehensive Recording of Divine Assistance),Pu Ji Fang (Formulas for Universal Relief), and Tai Ping Sheng Hui Fang (Formulas from Benevolent Sages Compiled during the Taiping Era) are ancient books that record many ointment prescriptions for tuina. The prescription name "Moyao Gao" (Moyao Ointment) appeared the most (these prescriptions share the same name, but some medicinals involved are different), with a frequency of 9 times, followed by Moyao Dan (Moyao Pellets) whose frequency is 7 times. Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata has the highest frequency of 37 times; among other medicinals with a frequency that is equal to or more than 20 times, their order of usage frequency from high to low is as follows: Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Euodiae Fructus, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Caryophylli Flos, Cinnabaris, Realgar, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Cinnamomi Cortex, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, Moschus, and Asari Radix et Rhizoma. Vinegar and lard are the most used subsidiary materials for ointment-making. The natures of selected medicinals are mainly warm and heat, followed by cold, neutral and cool. The flavors of selected medicinals are mostly acrid, followed by bitter and sweet. The meridian tropism of the selected medicinals are mostly the liver meridian and the spleen meridian. Conclusion: In the treatment of lumbar bi disease, tuina with ointment therapy should mainly use the methods of warming, unblocking, and tonifying, and pays attention to treating the liver and spleen, and the liver and kidney simultaneously. The use of modern technology to extract the effective ingredients of Chinese medicinals, combined with the latest ointment-making technology, can produce ointment preparation for tuina with more stable properties, more significant curative effects, and a better application for clinical uses, which is an important part of the development of tuina with ointment therapy.
