Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Fuming Capsules combined with Conbercept on diabetic retinopathy (DR) and its effects on corrected vision. Methods: A total of 90 DR patients were divided into the control group and the treatment group by random number table method. The control group was given Conbsercept for treatment, and the treatment group was additionally treated with Fuming Capsules. The clinical effects, incidence of adverse reactions, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, signs of eyes, best corrected vision and the levels of serum intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1),pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF),and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the above traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in two groups were decreased, and the scores in treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the gray value of visual field, bleeding spot area and central macular thickness (CMT) in two groups were decreased, and the gray value of visual field, bleeding spot area and CMT in treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);the best corrected vision after treatment was increased in two groups, and the best corrected vision in treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of ICAM-1, PEDF and VEGF in two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the above three levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups was no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Fuming Capsules combined with Conbercept can enhance the clinical effect on DR patients, which can improve the clinical symptoms and vision, and regulate the secretion of VEGF with great safety.
