Effect of Shenshuaining Tablets Assisting Western Medicine on Glucose and Lipid Metabolism, Kidney Function and Oxidative Stress in the Treatment of Diabetic Kidney Disease
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Shenshuaining Tablets assisting western medicine on glucose and lipid metabolism, kidney function and oxidative stress in the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Methods: A total of 104 DKD patients were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 52 cases in each group. Finally, the observation group included 51 cases (one case dropped out),and the control group included 50 cases (two cases dropped out). The control group was treated with Piperazine Ferulate Tablets and Losartan Potassium Tablets, and the observation group was additionally treated with Shenshuaining Tablets based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects, and the levels of blood glucose indexes [fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (P2hBG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c)], blood lipid indexes [total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)], kidney function indexes [blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr),and cystatin C (CysC)],and oxidative stress indexes [malondialdehyde (MDA),superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX)] were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 94.12% in the observation group, and 80.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of FBG, P2hBG, HbA1c, TC, TG, and LDL-C in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of HDL-C were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the blood glucose indexes and the levels of TC,TG,and LDL-C in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the HDL-C level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of SCr, BUN, and CysC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the MDA levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of SOD and GSHPX were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the MDA level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the levels of SOD and GSH-PX were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The use of Shenshuaining Tablets as an adjunct treatment to western medicine for DKD has significant curative effects, which can regulate the patient's glucose and lipid metabolism, alleviate oxidative stress reactions, and improve kidney function.
