Abstract： Based on the "toxin pathogen theory"， it is analyzed that the etiology and pathogenesis of both cold damage and warm disease are related to toxin. Exogenous febrile diseases are divided into eight types，namely wind toxin，cold toxin，damp toxin，heat toxin，dryness toxin，phlegm toxin，stasis toxin and deficiency toxin， so as to conduct syndrome differentiation and treatment， namely syndrome differentiation of eight toxins. Counteracting toxin therapy is taken as the main treatment for exogenous febrile diseases，with a good curative effect.
