Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qingjin Huatan Yifei Decoction combined with routine western medicine for bronchopneumonia. Methods: A total of 88 cases of children with bronchopneumonia were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingjin Huatan Yifei Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated; traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, lung function indexes, immune function indexes and serum inflammatory factor levels were compared before and after treatment between the two groups;the incidence rate of adverse reactions was analyzed. Results: The total effective rate was 95.45% in the observation group, higher than that of 79.55% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of main and secondary symptoms and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores of main and secondary symptoms and the total scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, forced vital capacity (FVC),forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) and the percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and FVC, FEV1 and FEV1/FVC in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), immunoglobulin G (IgG) and immunoglobulin M (IgM) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of IgA, IgM and IgG in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of tumor necrosis factor- α (TNF- α), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the levels of interferon- γ (IFN- γ) were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the levels of TNF- α,IL-8 and CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of IFN- γ was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Qingjin Huatan Yifei Decoction combined with routine western medicine for bronchopneumonia can effectively improve the clinical symptoms, improve respiratory function and immune function, alleviate airway inflammation and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
