Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Danzhi Xiaoyao San combined with Chinese herbal facial mask on adolescent acne with syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation. Methods：A total of 76 patients with adolescent acne with syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation were selected and divided into the western medicine group and the combination group according to the random number table method， with 38 cases in each group. The western medicine group was given Doxycycline Hydrochloride Tablets， and the combination group was given Danzhi Xiaoyao San combined with Chinese herbal facial mask. The two groups were treated for eight weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated， and the skin lesion scores， the symptom scores of syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation and the levels of sex hormones were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 94.74% in the combination group ， higher than that of 73.68% in the western medicine group (P ＜ 0.05). After four and eight weeks of treatment，the GAGS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the GAGS score in the combination group was lower than that in the western medicine group at the same time point (P＜0.05). After four and eight weeks of treatment， the symptom scores of syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the symptom scores of syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation in the combination group were lower than those in the western medicine group at the same time points (P＜0.05). After treatment，the serum levels of estradiol (E2) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment， and the serum levels of testosterone (T) were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； and the serum levels of E2 and LH in the combination group were higher than those in the western medicine group， and the T level was lower than that in the western medicine group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Danzhi Xiaoyao San combined with Chinese herbal facial mask has a great therapeutic effect on adolescent acne with syndrome of liver-meridian heat stagnation， which can improve the symptoms of facial skin lesions，regulate the levels of sex hormones，and improve the clinical effects.
