Abstract:Objectives:To observe the clinical effect of Qingre Xiehuo Jiedu Decoction combined with conventional western medicine on chronic periodontitis with intense stomach fire syndrome. Methods: A total of 84 cases of patients with chronic periodontitis were divided into the combination group and the reference group according to the random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The reference group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the combination group was additionally treated with Qingre Xiehuo Jiedu Decoction based on the treatment of the reference group. After four treatment courses, clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, periodontal tissue injury and gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory responses were compared between the two groups. Results: The total clinical effective rate was 92.86% in the combination group, higher than that of 71.43% in the reference group (P<0.05). After treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the scores in the combination group was lower than that in the reference group (P<0.05). After treatment, plaque indexes, periodontal pocket depth, and gingival indexes in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), and the above indexes in the combination group were lower than those in the reference group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in gingival crevicular fluid in the two groups were decreased (P<0.05),and the above levels in the combination group were lower than those in the reference group (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Qingre Xiehuo Jiedu Decoction combined with conventional western medicine has a definite curative effect in the treatment of chronic periodontitis with intense stomach fire syndrome and can effectively relieve symptoms, repair the patient's periodontal tissue and reduce inflammation in gingival crevicular fluid.
