Abstract： The authors are to summarize and introduce Professor JI Yunxi's clinical experience in treating constipation of yang deficiency and fire floating type from the kidney. Professor JI found in clinical practice that the main etiology and pathogenesis of constipation of yang deficiency and fire floating type lied in“ yang deficiency is the root and fire floating is the branch；yang constraint is the root obstructing the qi movement”. He，therefore，mentioned the treatment methods of“ warming the kidney and assisting yang and subduing yang， and contracting the interior； warming yang and resolving constraint， and regulating and freeing qi movement；regulating the waterways and transporting upwards and relieving downwards”. It is often effective to treat the disease mainly with Qianyang Fengsui (subduing yang and retaining marrow) Dan or self-created constipation prescription.
