Abstract： This article explores the etiology， pathogenesis， and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia based on the theory of "junior fire generating qi，vigorous fire dispersing qi". It is believed that the pathogenesis of the disease is due to junior fire failing to generate and insufficient kidney qi； upward rushing of vigorous fire，excessive heat in the heart and lung；spleen and stomach weakness，and poor qi circulation. The treatment should be based on the principles of warming yang qi， generating junior fire， nourishing the spleen and stomach， promoting qi circulation， clearing pathogenic heat， and eliminating vigorous fire，and should combine with flexible use of Shenqi Pills，Daochi Powder，Dongyuan Qingfei Yin， Chunze Decoction，etc.，and adjustments should be made according to accompanying symptoms.
