Abstract： Professor WEI Hewei， based on the theory of dampness， heat， stasis， and toxin， believes that gouty arthritis always belongs to the disease of internal damp-heat accumulation，and latent blood heat. He proposes the pathogenesis system of internal generation of damp-turbidity， blood stasis and heat toxin，with the main treatment methods of clearing heat and detoxifying，fortifying the spleen and draining dampness， and invigorating blood and dispelling stasis. At the same time， combining modern minimally invasive medical technology， tophus can be seen and cleaned under an arthroscope. Thus， Chinese medicine and western medicine can be combined，and both the root and branch of the disease can be treated simultaneously，providing new ideas for the combined treatment of gouty arthritis with Chinese and western medicine.
