Application of Outcome-Based Education Combined with BOPPPS Model to Teaching Rounds of Standardized Training for Residents of Gynecology in Chinese Medicine
Abstract: Objective: To observe the application effect of the combination use of Outcome Based Education (OBE) and BOPPPS model on teaching rounds of standardized training for residents of gynecology in Chinese medicine. Methods:A total of 51 resident doctors of Chinese medicine were set as the control group and given the traditional teaching rounds of standardized residents training in hospital;49 were set as the trial group and received standardized residents training in hospital with OBE combined with BOPPPS model. The after-department assessment scores of theoretical knowledge and skill practice of residents, and the results of teaching questionnaire between residents and teachers were compared between the two groups. Results:The assessment scores of theoretical knowledge and skill practice in the trial group were higher than those in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The scores of such items as interest stimulation, giving full play to initiative, thinking improvement, strong sense of participation, all-round ability improvement and overall satisfaction in the questionnaire of teaching rounds of standardized training for residents in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05),and there was being no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of expanding horizons between the two groups (P>0.05). The sures of classroom interaction effect, enthusiasm in classroom participation, clinically thinking exercise, familiarity with knowledge, ability to learn and express and overall satisfaction in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The application of OBE combined with BOPPPS model in the teaching rounds of standardized training for residents of Chinese medicine can enhance the learning and mastery of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of resident doctors and the cultivation of clinical thinking and ability so as to achieve the dual goals of teaching rounds and standardized residents training in hospital and improve the comprehensive quality of resident doctors receiving standardized training in hospital.
