Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Dilong Donghua Decoction on children with acute attack of asthma complicated with mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type. Methods:A total of 50 cases of children with acute attack of asthma complicated with MP infection of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group by random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Azithromycin Dry Suspension and Budesonide Formoterol Powder Inhaler, and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Dilong Donghua Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for eight weeks. The clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, peak expiratory flow rate in the predicted value (PEF%pred) and forced expiratory volume in the first second in the predicted value (FEV1%pred) were compared between the two groups. Results: After eight weeks of treatment, the total effective rate was 96.00% in the treatment group and 88.00% in the control group, there being no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). The TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the TCM syndrome score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). The PEF% pred and FEV1%pred in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment, and PEF%pred and FEV1%pred in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Modified Dilong Donghua Decoction can improve the clinical symptoms, signs and lung function of children with acute attack of asthma complicated with MP infection of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type, and effectively control an asthma attack.
