Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of self-made Pingchuan Zhike Prescription combined with Terbutaline Sulfate and Budesonide nebulization treatment on children with cough variant asthma (CVA). Methods:A total of 120 cases of children with CVA were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was given Terbutaline Sulfate and Budesonide nebulization treatment, and the observation group was additionally treated with Pingchuan Zhike Prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. The clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, lung function indexes [forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF) and forced vital capacity (FVC)],immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels and eosinophilic (EOS) counts were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 96.67% in the observation group and 85.00% in the control group, the difference being significant (P< 0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of lung function indexes like FEV1,FVC and PEF in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the levels of FEV1,FVC and PEF in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, IgE levels and EOS counts in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and IgE level and EOS count in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Pingchuan Zhike Prescription combined with Terbutaline Sulfate and Budesonide nebulization treatment for children with CVA can enhance the clinical effect, effectively relieve the TCM syndromes of children,improve lung function and humoral immune function,and reduce airway inflammation.
