Abstract： This article summarizes and introduces Professor GE Yan's clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis. Professor GE Yan believes that the core pathogenesis of chronic atrophic gastritis is spleen deficiency and qi stagnation，as well as stasis-heat complicated with toxins. The main treatment methods are to fortify the spleen and promote qi movement， and to dissolve blood stasis and detoxify. In addition，due to the tendency of liver qi to invade the stomach，the treatment of the stomach should not forget to regulate the liver and coordinate the ascending and descending function of the spleen and stomach. Clinical practice emphasizes the combination of disease， syndrome， and physical constitution in diagnosis and treatment，taking into account factors such as cold and heat，dryness and dampness， and biased physical constitution， and selecting treatment methods according to the syndrome.
