Abstract: Objective: To study the clinical effect of the combination use of Shenghua Decoction and thumb-tack needle therapy on uterine involution and lactation of parturients after cesarean section and its effect on lactation. Methods: The subjects observed were 80 patients with incomplete uterine involution after cesarean section admitted to Jinhua Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from March 2020 to December 2022. The patients were divided into the control group and the study group according to the randomized grouping method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Shenghua Decoction, and the study group was treated with Shenghua Decoction combined with thumb-tack needle therapy. The decrease of uterine fundus, lactation scores, duration of lochia after treatment and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores were compared between the two groups. Results:After 1,3,6 and 12 days of treatment, the height of uterine fundus in the study group was lower than that in the control group at the same time, differences being significant (P<0.05). After 1,3,6 and 12 days of treatment, the lactation score in the study group was respectively higher than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). The percentage of cases with lochia lasting for less than 15 days after treatment in the study group was more than that in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05);after treatment, the percentage of cases with lochia lasting for 15-30 days and more than 30 days was less than that in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination use of Shenghua Decoction and thumb-tack needle therapy can enhance the clinical effect on uterine involution of parturients after cesarean section, and improve the lactation function and traditional Chinese medicine syndromes.
