Clinical Study on Thumb-Tack Needling Combined with Qingfei Jianpi Decoction for Senile Patients with Community-Acquired Pneumonia of Dificiency of Spleen Qi and Phlegm-Heat Obstructing the Lung Type
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of thumb-tack needling combined with Qingfei Jianpi Decoction on senile patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) of dificiency of spleen qi and phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type. Methods:A total of 100 cases of senile patients with CAP of dificiency of spleen qi and phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional western medical treatments such as anti-infection, expectorant, cough suppressant, fever reduction, and nutritional support, and the treatment group was additionally treated with thumb-tack needling combined with Qingfei Jianpi Decoction. The changes in the levels of procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), T lymphocyte subsets (CD3+ , CD4+ , CD8+ ) and serum gastrin before and after treatment and the clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 98.00% in the treatment group and 86.00% in the control group, and the difference was significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of PCT and CRP in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of PCT and CRP in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and CD8+ levels were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05); the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05),and CD8+ level was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, gastrin levels in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the gastrin level in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Thumb-tack needling combined with Qingfei Jianpi Decoction has a remarkable clinical effect on senile patients with CAP of dificiency of spleen qi and phlegm-heat obstructing the lung type, which can effectively down-regulate the levels of inflammatory responses, enhance the body immunity and improve the gastrointestinal function.
