Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR). Methods： A total of 120 cases of patients with CSR were divided into the control group A，the control group B and the observation group according to the method of random sampling， with 40 cases in each group. The control group A was given electroacupuncture treatment， the control group B was given Mulligan joint loosening therapy， and the observation group was given electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy. After four weeks of treatment，the therapeutic effect was evaluated；the changes of range of motion (ROM) of joint， neck electromyographic signal，Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Activity Of Daily Living (ADL) scores were compared between the three groups. Results：After treatment，the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than those in the control group A and the control group B (P＜0.05)； the total effective rate in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P＜0.05). After treatment， the forward， backward， left， right， left and right rotation angles in the observation group were greater than those in the other two groups (P＜0.05)；the above angles in the control group B were greater than those in the control group A (P＜0.05). After treatment，the average electromyography in the observation group was lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P＜0.05)， and the average electromyography in the control group B was lower than that in the control group A (P＜0.05)；the median frequency of electromyography in the observation group was lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P＜0.05)，and the median frequency of electromyography in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P＜0.05). After treatment，VAS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group A and the control group B (P＜0.05)；the VAS score in the control group B was lower than that in the control group A (P＜0.05). After treatment， the ADL score in the observation group was higher than those in the other two groups (P＜0.05)；the ADL score in the control group B was higher than that in the control group A (P＜0.05). Conclusion：Electroacupuncture combined with Mulligan joint loosening therapy has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of CSR， which can effectively alleviate pain， enhance joint movement function， improve neck electromyographic signal and increase activity of daily living.
