Abstract: This article introduces Professor LIN Chuangjian's clinical experience in treating knee osteoarthritis by a combination of manipulation, Chinese medicine and functional exercise. Based on the unique climate characteristics of the Lingnan region, Professor LIN Chuangjian categorizes the pathogenesis and syndromes of patients with knee osteoarthritis in the Lingnan region as wind-damp,heat impediment and stasis syndrome. The treatment involves using tuina manipulation for external treatment, Chinese medicine for internal treatment,and functional exercise for long-term consolidation of therapeutic effects. The tuina manipulation is applied according to the relationship among bones, tendons, and muscles, treating each layer separately. In terms of Chinese medicine, he creates an effective Xibi Prescription for knee osteoarthritis,and modifies it according to the different stages of the disease. Finally, Yi Jin Jing functional exercise is additionally used to achieve the unified combination of prevention, treatment,and protection.
