Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of external application with Sihuang Shuimi on prevention of quinolones induced transfusional phlebitis. Methods: A total of 112 patients who received intravenous infusion of quinolones were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into the control group and the trial group, with 56 patients in each group, according to the random number table method. The control group received routine protective interventions for intravenous phlebitis, and the trial group received external application with Sihuang Shuimi based on the treatment of the control group. Compared the incidence of transfusional phlebitis, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores of infusion comfort, and infusion nursing satisfaction scores between the two groups, and observed the occurrence of adverse reactions during the intervention period. Results:The incidence of transfusional phlebitis was 3.6% in the trial group, which was lower than that of 30.4% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). The difference in limb mobility scores and overall scores between the two groups after infusion showed significant (P<0.05). The VAS scores for infusion comfort in the trial group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05),and the infusion nursing satisfaction score was higher than that in the control group (P< 0.05). Conclusion: The external application of Sihuang Shuimi can effectively prevent the occurrence of quinolones induced transfusional phlebitis, and improve the comfort and nursing satisfaction of infusion treatment, with high safety.
