Abstract： Professor LI Lixia believes that the onset of herpes zoster is related to the spleen and stomach deficiency； its etiology and pathogenesis are the internal damage to the spleen and stomach caused by irregular diet，emotional disorders，and excessive labor，which leads to the failure of the spleen to govern transportation and transformation， the failure of qi to ascend and descend， and internal generation of yin fire fumigating the skin. The treatment of the disease should be based on supplementing the spleen and stomach，and clearing and discharging yin fire. Fire needling has the functions of "warming， unblocking， clearing， dispersing， and supplementing"， which are in line with the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease. Professor LI Lixia， based on the theory of yin fire， selects the ouch points located on skin lesions， Pishu (BL20) point， Weishu (BL21) point， Zhigou (TE6) point， and Houxi (SI3) point，and uses fire needling to treat this disease with positive therapeutic effects.
