Abstract: Objective: To observe the curative effect of modified Yinqiao San Prescription on acute upper respiratory tract infection caused by adenovirus (ADV) complicated with fever in children. Methods : A total of 64 children with acute upper respiratory tract infection caused by ADV complicated with fever were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 33 and 31 cases in each group respectively. The control group received conventional treatment, and the observation group received a combination of modified Yinqiao San Prescription and conventional treatment. The clinical efficacy and temperature changes at different time periods were compared between the two groups, and the changes in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The clinical effective rate was 93.9% in the observation group and 51.6% in the control group, with the difference being significant (P<0.05). The temperatures in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 24,48,and 72 hours of treatment, with differences being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared to those before treatment (P<0.05),and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:In the treatment of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection caused by ADV complicated with fever, the modified Yinqiao San Prescription can rapidly bring down a fever, effectively alleviate clinical symptoms, and improve the therapeutic effects.
