Abstract:Objective:To explore the dominant indications and acupoint selection rules of acupuncture and moxibustion for craniocerebral injury. Methods: The clinical research literature on acupuncture and moxibustion for craniocerebral injury were retrieved in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang), China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP) and China Biology Medicine disc (CBM) from the establishment of the databases to March 2024. Microsoft Excel 2019 was used to analyze the use frequency of acupuncture points, meridian entries, specific acupoints and treatment measures. SPSS Modeler 18.0 and SPSS Statistics 18.0 software were used to conduct the association rules analysis and cluster analysis on acupuncture points. The Fruchterman Reingold algorithm and K-core of Gephi 0.9.7 software were used for complex network analysis. Results: Finally, 532 articles were included, of which acupuncture and moxibustion were the most used for disorder of consciousness after craniocerebral injury. Further analysis of acupoint selection rules was done , involving a total of 103 acupuncture points. The most frequently used acupuncture points were Shuigou (DU26) point,Neiguan (PC6) point and Sanyinjiao (SP6) point;the most frequently used meridian entry was the governor vessel;the specific acupoints accounted for a high proportion, mainly He points. The association rules analysis showed that the commonly used acupoint combination was Shuigou (DU26) point-Neiguan (PC6) point-Sanyinjiao (SP6) point-Baihui (DU20) point-Yongquan (KI1) point-Hegu (LI4) point. A total of seven types of acupoint combinations were figured out by the cluster analysis. The complex network analysis suggested seven core acupuncture points in total. Conclusion: The disorder of consciousness after craniocerebral injury is a dominant indication of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, which reflects the acupoint selection rules of opening the orifices and unblocking the collaterals, and regulating the governor vessel and the spirit.
