Abstract:Objective:To observe the effect of timing point application combined with emotional nursing on constipation after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute myocardial infarction. Methods:A total of 78 patients with constipation after PCI for acute myocardial infarction were observed and divided into the control group and the trial group, with 34 and 44 cases in each group respectively, according to different time periods. The control group received emotional nursing, and the trial group received timing point application combined with emotional nursing treatment. Compared the incidence of constipation and quality of life scores between the two groups, and compared the changes in bowel movements, Self- Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS), and Cleveland Constipation Score (CCS) before and after treatment. Results:The incidence of constipation was 4.54% in the trial group, and 23.52% in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the first defecation, the interval between bowel movements, the degree of difficulty in defecation, and the defecation desire scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the trial group had lower scores in the above four items than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the physiological discomfort, psychological discomfort, worry level, satisfaction score, and total score in the trial group were lower than those in the control group, the difference being significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the SAS and SDS scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the scores in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the BSFS and CCS scores in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the scores in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Timing point application combined with emotional nursing can effectively reduce the occurrence of constipation after PCI for acute myocardial infarction, improve defecation symptoms, alleviate negative emotions, and improve quality of life.
