Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Liumo Chengqi Decoction combined with soapsuds enema in the treatment of acute intestinal obstruction with the stomach-intestinal qi block syndrome. Methods: A total of 62 cases of patients with acute intestinal obstruction with the stomachintestinal qi block syndrome were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 31 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional therapy (fasting, water deprivation, gastrointestinal decompression, etc.). On this basis, the control group was treated with soapsuds enema, and the observation group was treated with Liumo Chengqi Decoction combined with soapsuds enema. Both groups were treated for three days. The clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, gastrointestinal hormone, inflammatory factor, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After three days of treatment, the total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group, which was higher than that of 74.19% in the control group (P<0.05). The TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were declined when compared to those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TCM syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum motilin and gastrin in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of serum motilin and gastrin in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum interleukin-8 (IL-8),C-reactive protein (CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the levels of serum IL-8,CRP,and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions was 9.68% in the observation group and 6.45% in the control group, with no significance in the difference (P>0.05). Conclusion:The combination of Liumo Chengqi Decoction and soapsuds enema has a definite therapeutic effect on acute intestinal obstruction with the stomach-intestinal qi block syndrome. It can effectively improve the gastrointestinal function of patients and reduce the level of inflammatory factors, with a low incidence of adverse reactions.
