Abstract：This article introduces the experience of application of ocular uplifting and pressing method in acupuncture for the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis with lagopthalmus. Starting from the idea that "if qi is not nourished， the eyes can't close"， the author thinks that the insufficiency or inhibition of qi and blood of nutrient qi， qiao-vessel qi and yang-vessel qi is the basic pathogenesis of peripheral facial paralysis with lagopthalmus. The uplifting and pressing method in acupuncture combined with penetrating needling method have been applied to the eyes and periorbital acupoints， and then ocular uplifting and pressing method has been formed. Supplementation and drainage are applied together on the same acupoints，and the proportion of supplementation and drainage is regulated according to the disease course and the exuberance and decline of the patient's qi and blood to promote qi movement and free the meridians and vessels. A treatment plan with a complete acupuncture treatment system has been formed， which helps to improve the clinical effect， and reflects the importance of improving the clinical application of traditional acupuncture techniques.
