Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effects of the external application of Qingliang Huohua Powder combined with Glucosamine Potassium Sulfate Tablets on knee osteoarthritis and its impact on inflammatory indicators. Methods： A total of 200 patients with knee osteoarthritis were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method，with 100 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Glucosamine Potassium Sulfate Tablets， and the treatment group was given the external application of Qingliang Huohua Powder based on the treatment of the control group. Changes in clinical effects，gait，knee joint function [Lysholm Knee Scoring Scale (LKSS)]， scores of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of pain， syndrome scores， and the levels of inflammatory indicators [white blood cell count (WBC)， C-reactive protein (CRP)， and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)] were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the total effective rate in the treatment group was 93.00%， while that in the control group was 78.00%， with significance in the difference (P＜0.05). After treatment， the two groups showed an increase in step frequency，step length，and pace when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)；the treatment group had higher step frequency and pace than the control group (P＜0.05)， but there was no significant difference in step length between the two groups (P＞0.05). After treatment，CRP，ESR，and WBC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the three inflammatory indicators in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment，the LKSS scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)， and the VAS scores were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the LKSS score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05)， and the VAS score was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). After treatment， the syndrome scores of joint pain， knee joint range of motion， and daily activities in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)，and the above scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion：The combination of the external application of Qingliang Huohua Powder and Glucosamine Potassium Sulfate Tablets can improve joint function，alleviate clinical symptoms， effectively inhibit the body's inflammatory responses，and thus enhance clinical effects in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis.
