Clinical Study on Suzi Jiangqi Decoction and Sanzi Yangqin Decoction Combined with Conventional Therapy for Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease of Phlegm Turbidity Obstructing the Lung Type
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Suzi Jiangqi Decoction and Sanzi Yangqin Decoction combined with conventional therapy on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type. Methods: A total of 102 AECOPD patients of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type admitted to Tiantai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2021 to November 202 were selected and divided into the trial group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The trial group was treated with Suzi Jiangqi Decoction and Sanzi Yangqin Decoction combined with conventional therapy and the control group was only treated with conventional therapy. The two groups were treated for one week. The clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome scores, lung function indexes [forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1),forced vital capacity (FVC) and FEV1/FVC], arterial blood gas indexes [partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) and partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2)] and serum inflammatory factors [C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and white blood cell count (WBC)] were compared between the two groups Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 9.88% (46/49) in the trial group, higher than that of 79.17%( 8/48) in the control group( P<0.05). The TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above scores in the trial group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of FEV1, FVC and FEV1/FVC in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three indexes in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The PaO2 levels in the two groups were up-regulated when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the PaCO2 levels were down-regulated when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);there were no significant differences being found in the comparisons of levels of PaO2 and PaCO2 between the two groups (P>0.05). The levels of CRP, PCT and WBC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above three levels in the trial group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Suzi Jiangqi Decoction and Sanzi Yangqin Decoction combined with conventional therapy on AECOPD of phlegm turbidity obstructing the lung type has a better curative effect than that of conventional therapy, which can more significantly mitigate the symptoms, improve the lung function and reduce the inflammation. The curative effect on improving arterial blood gas indexes is consistent with that of conventional therapy.
