Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect of Qingxuan Huadu Decoction as an adjuvant treatment on viral pneumonia and its effects on the levels of blood gas parameters and inflammatory factors. Methods: A total of 78 cases of patients with viral pneumonia admitted to Zhoushan City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to September 2023 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,with 39 cases in each group. Both groups were given comprehensive western medical treatment, with the control group receiving Oseltamivir, and the observation group was additionally treated with Qingxuan Huadu Decoction based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for seven days. Clinical effects and symptom recovery were compared between the two groups;the levels of blood gas parameters [arterial blood pH, partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2), partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2)], and inflammatory markers [interleukin (IL)-1β,IL-6,heparin-binding protein (HBP),procalcitonin (PCT)] were compared before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 92.30% (36/39) in the observation group, higher than that of 74.36% (29/39) in the control group (P<0.05). The time to disappearance of panting,fever resolution,and fatigue improvement in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of pH and PaO2 were increased when compared with those before treatment, and PaCO2 levels were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the observation group showed higher levels of pH and PaO2 and lower level of PaCO2 than the control group( P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of IL-1β,IL-6,HBP,and PCT in serum in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the observation group had lower levels of IL-1β, IL-6, HBP, and PCT in serum compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Qingxuan Huadu Decoction as an adjuvant treatment for viral pneumonia can effectively inhibit inflammatory responses, improve respiratory function,promote rapid alleviation of clinical symptoms,and enhance treatment efficacy.
