Abstract:This paper summarises and introduces CHEN Jie's clinical experience in treating hemifacial spasm after facial paralysis based on Professor FU Wenbin's integrated acupuncture thinking.CHEN Jie points out that hemifacial spasm after facial paralysis belongs to the category of channel sinew diseases in traditional Chinese medicine, and its occurrence is related to deficiency of healthy qi,qi stagnation and blood stasis, stirring of liver wind and formation of sinew masses. Based on the integrated acupuncture thinking, CHEN Jie treats the disease in the following steps: relaxing, warming and moxibustion. CHEN Jie uses an acupotomy to relax the facial and neck sinew masses, supplemented with warming-needle, heat-sensitive moxibustion on acupoints of Yangming meridian and Taiyang meridian,in order to stimulate the transmission of meridian qi,so that qi can arrive at the disease location.
