Clinical Study on Honglu Bojin Therapy Combined with Chinese Herbal Foot Bath for Non-Dialysis Renal Anemia of Chronic Kidney Disease with Syndrome of Spleen and Kidney Deficiency
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Honglu Bojin Therapy combined with Chinese herbal foot bath in treating non-dialysis renal anemia (RA) of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with syndrome of spleen and kidney deficiency. Methods: A total of 82 cases of non-dialysis RA of CKD patients with syndrome of spleen and kidney deficiency were selected from Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and divided into the observation group and the control group by simple randomized method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Honglu Bojin Therapy combined with Chinese herbal foot bath based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two months. The clinical effects, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,anemia-related indexes( hemoglobin, red cell count, hematocrit), iron metabolism indexes (serum iron, total iron binding capacity, ferritin, transferrin), microinflammatory indexes (soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1, monocyte chemotactic protein-1) and renal function indexes (serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen) were compared between the two groups. Results:After two months of treatment, the total effective rate was 95.12%(39/41) in the observation group, higher than that of 78.05% (32/41) in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of waist and knee soreness and weakness, limb edema, fatigue and lack of strength, stuffiness in stomach cavity and poor appetite in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above four traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of hemoglobin, red blood cell count, hematocrit, serum iron, total iron binding capacity, ferritin and transferrin in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above seven indexes in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1,serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the levels of the above four indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:On the basis of western medicine,Honglu Bojin Therapy combined with Chinese herbal foot bath can improve the clinical effect and effectively improve the kidney function and non-dialysis RA of CKD patients with syndrome of spleen and kidney deficiency.
