Abstract： This paper summarizes and introduces Professor YE Liqun's clinical experience in treating infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome based on the theory of collaterals and sweat pores. The theory of collaterals and sweat pores holds that there are many collaterals and sweat pores around the uterus and five organs，which coordinate the ascending，descending，existing and entering of qi，blood，and body fluids. Professor YE Liqun believes that the core pathogenesis of infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome lies in the invasion of internal and external pathogenic qi into the body，leading to dysfunction of the five organs，disorder of the balance of qi，blood，yin and yang during the menstrual cycle，obstruction of the flow of essence，qi，blood，and body fluids，and the production of phlegm， blood stasis， and turbidity. This affects the opening and closing of sweat pores of the five organs， the smooth circulation of collaterals，the obstruction of thoroughfare and conception channels，and the stasis and blockage of cellular blood vessels， resulting in the loss of nourishment of the uterus， insufficient blood flow， and stagnant development and discharge of follicles. Therefore，inspired by the medicinal ideas of YE Tianshi's acrid herbs and vine based medicines，the pathogenesis is carefully differentiated，combined promoting and tonifying methods，and unique effective formulas are created. The four formulas of Duonang Xingjing Decoction， Duonang Yangbao Decoction， Duonang Culuan Decoction，and Duonang Cujing Decoction corresponding to the four menstrual cycles are applied to restore organ function， eliminate phlegm， stasis， and turbid pathogen， promote the circulation of sweat pores， harmonize meridians，nourish the ovary，and promote timely menorrhea，only then can yin and yang harmonized，and pregnancy be achieved.
