Abstract： Based on the theory of mutual generation between metal and water， this paper discusses the pathological characteristics of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD） in the stable phase （lung-kidney deficiency and the binding of phlegm and blood stasis），and further analyzes the therapeutic methods of supplementing the lung and kidney， resolving phlegm and eliminating blood stasis， and the compatibility characteristics of Bufei Yishen Huoxue Prescription proposed by Professor ZHANG Zhen， a national master of Chinese medicine. This prescription can improve the symptoms and signs of COPD in the stable phase by enhancing the lung function of diffusing and governing descent，the kidney function of qi reception，and the smoothness of the vessels.
