Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of the combination use of eight pieces of brocade and Shengyang Plaster on chronic heart failure. Methods：A total of 108 patients with chronic heart failure admitted into the Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Southwest Medical University were selected from June 2022 to June 2023 and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 54 cases in each group. The control group was given acupoints application based on the routine treatment， and the observation group was additionally given the intervention of eight pieces of brocade based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects and the incidence of adverse reactions，and the changes of NYHA functional classification of heart failure， traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores， left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）， stroke volume （SV） and N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide （NT-ProBNP） before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results：After intervention，the functional classification in the two groups was improved，and the functional classification in the observation group was better than that in the control group （P＜0.05）. After intervention， the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After intervention， the levels of NT-ProBNP in the two groups were dwindled when compared with those before intervention （P＜0.05）， and the LVEF and SV levels were elevated when compared with those before intervention （P＜0.05）； the level of NT-ProBNP in the observation group was lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05），and the LVEF and SV level were higher than that in the control group （P＜0.05）. The total effective rate was 70.37% （38/54） in the control group and 88.89%（48/54） in the observation group， the difference being significant （P＜0.05）. During the treatment， no serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. Conclusion： The combination use of eight pieces of brocade and Shengyang Plaster can effectively improve the heart function and hemodynamics of patients with chronic heart failure，relieve the symptoms of heart failure and enhance the quality of life with great rehabilitation effect.
