Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of the combination use of midnight-midday ebb flow chronoacupuncture and virtual reality technology on gonarthritis. Methods： A total of 90 patients with gonathritis admitted into General Hospital of Pingmei Shenma Group from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with common acupuncture and virtual reality technology， and the observation group was treated with midnight-midday ebb flow chrono-acupuncture and virtual reality technology. The two groups were treated for 30 days. The clinical effects，and the changes in the scores of Visual Analogue Scale （VAS） of pain and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index （WOMAC），the peak torque（ PT） of flexor muscle and extensor muscle of knee，and the knee function [Hospital for Special Surgery （HSS）] before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the total clinical effective rate was 95.56%（43/45） in the observation group， and the total effective rate was 82.22% （37/45） in the control group， the difference being significant （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the VAS scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group （P＜ 0.05）. After treatment， the WOMAC scores in the two groups were dwindled when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the WOMAC score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group （P＜ 0.05）. After treatment，the PT values of flexor muscle and extensor muscle of knee in the two groups were elevated when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the PT values of flexor muscle and extensor muscle of knee in the observation group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the HSS scores of pain， function，range of motion，muscle strength，deformity，and stability in the two groups were elevated compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the HSS scores of the above six items in the observation group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. Conclusion： The combination use of midnight-midday ebb flow chronoacupuncture and virtual reality technology has a definite curative effect on gonarthritis，which can effectively mitigate the pain and primary symptoms of patients，enhance the muscle strength of flexor muscle and promote the recovery of knee function.
